It's not about me

The day after I posted my 100th post, I had to leave town to attend to a sick family member. Boy am I going to have some great blogging stuff to share about the drive, the hotel, my visit with the tax lady, and some crazy extended cousins. But alas...good things come to those who wait.

Or...remember this? Good Food DOES Take Time. This was proof from November that you can't be hasty in your judgement (I think Confucsious said something like that).

I would hate to rush any of these stories, and not give my great readers what they need from me...FUN!! So I'll be sure to get on these when I get back.

In the meantime, I am guest posting silliness for MP, over at mysecondjournal, with Formula 401 (409's Kid Sister) and This Just In... .

It seems easier for me to blog when it's not about me...why is that I wonder??

See ya in a couple days!! Oh...I'll have to make sure I'm back to direct you to my other guest spot. ;)

100th Post with 100 Linky Lovin'

WHEW!!! I'd like to thank all the little people!! No seriously...I'm even off my pain meds now...this post was some work. What lofty ideas I have (and to think that I originally thought I would post 100 comments in one day). Who the heck was I kidding??

Without further ado...I have officially left 100 comments on DIFFERENT blogs. I do want to thank some of my blogging homies for multiple posts. I didn't realize what 100 comments would mean. I know it seemed like I was stalking some of you and I was but now you maybe understand why. And for those of you taking a day off...DAMN! You were killing me already!! No really...Did anyone notice I've finally acquired a new skill? Oh's officially taken me 100 posts to learn strikethrough skillz baby!!

So...on with it already. Sorry this is going to be a long post...but hell, it's taken me this long to write it. I'm thinkin' you can sit a couple extra minutes and read it.

OH, and by the way, these are in NO PARTICULAR ORDER.

Kelly O. got to de-stress in front of her new fish tank with I'm obsessed with my little ecosystem. Her hubby is a great guy and her kids are TOO CUTE!! She's also quite domestic with Eggs, bunny cupcakes, and Guinness cake.

Dee at On the Curb with I sometimes brush my hair. So quirky. this lady has a way with making you laugh at bodily functions. She even finds a way to tie them in to movie watching with If I only had a heart.. I'm wishing her some seriously needed rest at Hop Hop Flop. And because I'm a huge stalker fan I went back and left comments on Say cheese and crackers AND Zen (not) and the art of lawnmower maintenance. I just love this squirrel head.

We have this friend, Wreke, who likes to use her words, rather than do math. DIY and guilty pleasure monday: what’s he got by the producers

OHMommy openly shared her first memories with Coming To America: Part 1. What a great story! I can't wait to read the rest of the story from this classy lady. She also takes great pics of her kids, you can see some at "The Easter Bunny isn't HUMAN", and if you need a chuckle read Oh... pickles!!!

Speaking of classy ladies, am I the only one that has recently discovered Mrs. Fussypants? She is funny and a wiz with photoshop. You must check out Fight the Frump: Celebrities without Stylists or Fussy's Secret for a Miserable Existence Apparantly there are many people who "Fight the Frump" because funny lady Dre has her Fight the Frump by Getting Jiggy. I like the way this woman thinks with Tag from One of My Favorite Crazy Ladies

Trees flowers birds with her Snapdragon!. And of course I had to comment on her political update at Back on the political track. Still breathing and Move 2008 - Week 12 update and Dedication.

I do have a couple male readers. Mike Golch also recently hit the milestone with I managed to hit 100 make he is a strong supporter of our troops, as many of us do but he often posts about it, as he does in with thanks to those who have served. Thanks Mike!

Travis at Trav's Thoughts had his "Mo's Manic Monday - Egg" and "The Sweet 16 is Set".

Silly Melissa at Part of Everything, asks the questions that people want to know; Do You Know Where Your Children Are?. And cute stories about Bunny Hats, You Ae The Best and Holiday Disclaimer. (don't ask me why I can't get this to say "Jenn" like it's supposed to) opens up in Food for My Thoughts and fills us in on a mother's worst nightmare with In Which Social Butterfly was Shaken NOT Stirred

BipolarLawyerCook talks about the importance of "friends" in Love Thursday. And of course I had to wish her a blessed Easter, after she shared a great poem at Happy Easter, Happy Weekend, Happy Love.

I discovered this Blog through research for this post, and am so glad I did. Five Years Ago from
Tipp Talk, is a moving honest post indeed. I even learned something about Google Calendar by reading her A Great Find. I'll have to give it a shot. Don't hold your breath though...this could take a while. Need I remind you of the strikethrough thing??

I of course had to go back and thank MP at her post Brilliant Writing.. I even volunteered to guest post for her while she's on vacation with The Easter Post - Still not ready for vacation.... She very thoughtfully left instructions with Dear Guest Bloggers but had some last minute emotions with Power of the Internet . This is going to be a hoot because I'm sharing duties with some silly people like Biddy, who wrote y'all don't mind me....

Speaking of volunteering to guest post, I'm fortunate that I can help out dawn at Alex Year One and had to thank her in the comments at Haiku Crazy and Weekly Winners - Great Deals. I also met one of her other guest bloggers, Planet of Janet, via Pillow talk, or romance isn’t dead — it’s just very, very sick (very funny).

Some relatively new bloggers Nanci's Foibles (who happens to be a personal friend) and she's been helping another friend deal with a horrible tragedy. I've been leaving my thoughts with her all week but a promising sign indeed with Good Medicine and Memorial & Celebration. It's nice to see that things seem to be lightening up with Easter Eggs, Undies and Socks and Photo Opp.

Another beautiful blogger, that I don't go say "Hi" to nearly enough, mama milton, had some sadness and reflection of her own in speechless, I of course had to follow up with her on her happy easter post.

Sandy, over at Momisodes, dared to share the story Hai’jacked. She's usually good for quite a laugh with her beautiful daughter stories, like this one 13 Signs of Parenting Gone Wrong. She also takes great photos and I'm lucky she shares them at Easter Bunny Sighting and PhotoHunt: Metal. Wielding Sticks and The Egg Aftermath (shoot...maybe I stalk her too?)

I have a new blogging friend April. I went and left two comments on her site tonight but I'm afraid I can't link to the posts...something about there not being titles? You'll have to just take my word for it. :)

Have you met these three funny ladies? See Hear Speak No Evil is a fun site shared by three friends. I got to leave several comments because they're all writing about different things; O! a winner!, This week’s fridge poetry, Haiku I Love You!

Suzanne at So You Don't Get Calls from me... posts a repeat and a recall story to share with us: Suzanne's Soundtrack Sunday and Scrolling Saturdays .

Krissy at is nuts! She cracks me up withy her Guess what happens when I get tired attitude and More adventures of tar-jay.

No list would be complete without the lovely Mrs. G. with her Jane Eyre and the Linen Closet, Things Mrs. G tried that didn't work, and Superbness.

I had fun sneaking into other people's blog roll and seeing what treasures they had:
jennifer h at Thursday Drive with How Babies Are Made.
Cheri at Blog This Mom! with List Day Twenty-Two: Do You Know the Way to San Jose?
stephanie has two blogs? One at A-Lister with because you might care and another at bad mom with math and stuff. I also HAD to post on full freaking moon because you know how I feel about those.
katydidnot with miscalculation and like totally photoshopped. She's a funny lady indeed.
Pamela at You're Doing It Wrong had a couple of fun posts (although there weren't specific titles I could link to...I really need a blogging / linking class) so I commented on March 19th and 20th posts.
might I add...? with organizing tips from Ikea (or how to keep your pie)

The One about Grandy in the Trash

Folks, I'm off working on my 100th post. Remember when I mentioned that I was going to post 100 comments on different posts and put the link love back here? Wait...was that before my liquid crack, I mean pain medication? Hmmmmm...someone remind me that postage stamps come self adhesive now.

Anyway...I'm off commenting away and working on this. I'm working on 100 comments from when I started the post, which was Friday.

I feel remiss in not sharing anything with you all, so I thought I would share another repeat post from the days where I had minimal readers. A couple of you may remember this, but may not mind this encore post. :)

I promise to have the post for you in the next couple days. Oh yea...and a repeat post doesn't count as a new post...for those of you counting.

Don't Tell Anyone
Pssst! Over here!!

Can you keep a secret? Promise? You mustn't tell a SOUL!!

Remember how I mentioned that to be with me it's always an adventure? I'm like Laverne without her Shirley, Lucy without her Ethel. I usually have to warn my girlfriends, if it's going to be a one-on-one day, to watch out. We're going to have some 'splainin' to do when we get done. Well, I have to tell you, it's worse when I'm by myself.

I have to get something off my chest, and feel close enough to you that I might be able to trust you. I once got caught...dumpster diving. You know, diggin' through the trash, mining for goodies. Well, I wasn't actually looking for goodies.

Really, there was a good reason!!

I was cleaning out my car at the gas station, because I absolutely live in it during the week, and was throwing out the random trash from boys in the back seat. I pumped my gas AND checked my oil. I was feeling quite productive and like Supermom!! Able to multi-task in a single bound.

I got back in the car, humming a little song, and went for my keys. Beyond that, I suddenly had an "other" body experience, ya know the kind...where you wish you were someone "other"? I vaguely remember it going something like this:

Keys? WTF? What did I do with my flippin' keys?? Mustn't panic...Look around car...notice large trash can...NO WAY!! They're not in there!! Check the car again, oh sure NOW I clean it. Ok...check under the hood. I had just checked the oil after all. How about the hood? I can't tell you how many things I've lost because I drove off with it on top of the car. Nope...not there!! SHOOT!! Good news is there is no one else at the gas station. NO ONE!! Dare I? What are my options? Call Hubby and have he and son drive 20 miles to get me another set of the keys...while NEVER hearing the end of it until I die?? I'm not thinkin' so. Ummmm...running out of options. Perhaps I can get them out of the top? Here goes...

Ewww...what a smell!! Ok, like the little blue napkin thingy is really helping protect my hands. ( stock in Propel NOW!) I remove the lid and look around the keys. DARN!! Don't tell me the darn things took the plunge to the bottom, like they do with my purse.

Just as I get about elbow deep in the can, a car pulls up and stops just next to me. Frozen, and having a new understanding for what deer feel like when caught, I thought if I stood there, no one would notice this lone white woman, who seems bathed and ok, with her entire arm in the trash can. Out walks the most distinguished looking white haired man I've ever seen. Get me out of here!!

Grandy: *Self-Conscious smile* Hi
Handsome white haired man: You CAN'T be having a good day.
Grandy: *Still Smiling* I can't find my keys, I'm afraid I've thrown them in the trash.
HWHM: *Now standing right next to Grandy, looking in the trash* Mind if I watch?
Grandy: Huh??
HWHM: Frankly, my wife's sister just got to the house so I really have NO HURRY to get anywhere, and I get the feeling this is going to be the best laugh I'm gonna get all weekend.
Grandy: Um...Nope...I'm good. But thank you folks, I'm here all week.

Out of sheer horror, and this sudden urge to fake fainting, I pulled my arm out and said, maybe I should check my car again. I walk around the other side, and this time reach into my pocket. ACK!! MY KEYS!! No time to show my excitement at finding them. Now have to somehow exit stage left with any remote shred of self respect I could pull out of my shoes.

Must think to make this happen...HWHM is still standing there, but his back is to me at the moment. I quickly run to the garbage can, grab keys out of pocket, knock them against the can and say "HERE THEY ARE!!" HWHM can't hide the disappointment as he shakes his head. "Good luck with the sister-in-law," I shout to him. "Gotta run!!"

I pull out of there as if I'm in the Daytona Grand Prix (or whatever it's called) drive about 2 blocks, pull over, and thrust my head repeatedly on to the steering wheel.

Why do I do this to myself?? I need help....but for now...just another bath.

A Letter To Ty

To My Ty,

It's March 19th, my favorite day of the year!!

I tease you and say it's because it's the last day of Winter, but you know the real reason, because you're smart and sly that way...and you get me.

I can't believe it was 12 years ago today you blessed my life. I was a single mom, who barely knew what she was supposed to do, and you came into my world and truly saved me. From the moment you were born, you and I have been thick as thieves, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

You wouldn't remember this, because you were about 2 1/2 at the time, but here's just one example of how you saved me on a night that I felt I was in my darkest hour.

We had just moved away from living 2 minutes from Nana and Papa, to now being 3 hours away, we were in our new place, and I was looking for work. I was having a bit of a "melt down" and feeling lost, while you sat and watched cartoons. You turned and looked at me, so seriously, walked over to me and touched my tears. "Wa up mama?" you asked. "Nothing baby, Mommy's just tired," I lied. You walked away into the bathroom and came back with something in your hand, behind your back. You were so serious, and yet smiling softly. I still remember thinking how have I come to deserve this little man? In that moment you handed me a square, just one square, of toilet paper. "Is ok mommy" you said, as you handed me the square. It was then that I realized how truly deep your sensitivities ran. You made my night with that square, and many more nights.

You've always been fearless, my boy. When this picture was taken, your helmet weighed almost as much as you did. So how would you put it on? You'd put it on the ground and stick your head into it. Brilliant!

When you introduced me to your dad, you loved him right away. I knew that. What wasn't to love? But as we all grew closer, together, I could see that this was indeed the best fit for both of us.

I still remember your first words when I called you at Papa's and told you he gave me a ring. "Well it's about time!" Up until that time, with every chance you got, you were buying me little rings and presenting them to me in front of him. I didn't catch on at the time (I'm a little slow that way) but I later realized that you were trying to get him to catch on. You are so SMART!

When we got married, how could I not have you give me away?? You and Grandpa were the two main men in my life, and it was only fitting that you be the one to welcome the new guy. ;)

So here you are...12 years old today. It makes me cry to think you're getting so big, and yet it makes me proud to see how you're growing. You still ride your dirt bike like nobody's business. You're quite the Boy Scout, as you work together with your dad on your advancements. You're almost a teen and yet you're not to big to play with your baby cousins. Just are still a kid and it's okay to to be one.

Nice try on this one. :)

Happy Birthday Ty!! I love you more than you will ever know. I am so blessed every day you are in my life! I pray we have many many MANY more birthdays to share.

Now...Go clean your room.

Mixing Things Up

I think I promised to keep this site fresh when we came into the new year.

Well...Spring is in the air and it's time for Grandy to change things up a bit.

Wow, playing with these templates is not an easy thing. I hope you all like the new look. I was supposed to have posted something on Saturday to share how I'm preparing for the season change. Well, better late than never...right?

What is Grandy's favorite day of the year? March 19th!! This day is both Ty's birthday and the last day of winter. Spring is my favorite time of year and so what a time for new fresh things indeed.

So I'm starting with a new look on the blog.

What's next??

I'm physically getting stronger every day, and am very excited about my soon improved health.

I'm going to focus new efforts on my writing.

Oh yeah...and I have to get Hubby's taxes done (yeah yeah...I'm all over that).

So tell me readers...what are you doing to bring in Spring?

Anything new in the works??

Chewing Gum while Talking

My blogging buddy, storyteller, posted a cute blogthings that I thought I would share with the few readers that come around on a Sunday night.

You Are Bubblegum Flavored Gum

You are friendly, outgoing, and energetic.

You love life, and you can always find some reason to smile.

You are a bit hyper, and you're always looking for your next challenge.

You love getting things done - and you are usually on the go.

Your confidence and positive attitude makes you a very attractive person.

You can be a little flaky at times, but people are able to overlook that - because you're so fun!

I've also been tagged for a meme by two of my other blogging buds, Mike Golch with A quote for you, and onthecurb with You may say I’m a dreamer…. I don't think it's cheating if I do it here and meet both their tagging requirements. :)

The point of this quick meme is to share a favorite quote and dedicate it to three other bloggers, who in turn do the same. Who will I be dedicating this to? Melissa, Dens and let's wrap it back to storyteller.

"That which does not kill me, makes me strong."
Friedrich Nietzsche, Twilight of the Idols, 1888 German philosopher (1844 - 1900)

This is a motto I have, and will, forever live by. I've even joked that it will go on my tombstone when I'm gone. With one very important tag line, of course.

Does anyone else have XM Channels on their TV Satelite?

We Grandys love ours!

I think I've mentioned the Broadway Channel to you, but there are so many others. I don't think I'm blowing any secrets when I say that the Mr. Grandy(s) of the house aren't so fond of that one, however.

Where else can you get random music selections to fit your liking? I have quite the eclectic music collection and XM fits that. As I'm working through my recovery, I'm trying not to get sucked into watching TV all day. This Grandy is not used to so much down time...and is NOT in to soap operas.

It's the names folks...the "Names" of these channels that crack me up. I'm sure there's a perfectly good system in place, but I haven't figured it out yet. Some make perfect sense and then, well, you be the judge of what does and doesn't.

- "80's on 8" - Feeling like some leg warmers already.
- "US Country" - is pretty self explanitory on what it consists of.
- "On Broadway" - One of my favorites people.
- "Spirit" - speaks volumes as well.
- "Squizz-XL" - Rock? Post Grunge? Metal? Rap? Funk? It says it has it all.
- "Ethel" - New modern rock superstarts mixed with 90's flashbacks. (??)
- "Lucy" - Alternative Rock?
- "Fred" - Also alternative? Has anyone told Ricky he needs a channel for Alternative Latin?
- "Special X" - I didn't make up this explanation, it's from them - A collection of some of the most bizarre music ever recorded. Hmmm...So do they mean "special" as in little yellow school bus "special"?
- "XMU" - Indie pop...because all college stations are "indie".

Tell me what your favorite XM Channel is...and if you know what the name of the channel means??

Okay...THANK YOU!!

In a previous post, I C more of U, I wrote a bit of a tribute to all the nurses of the world. I truly appreciate what these people go through to help in the healing process.

That being said, I think we all know there is always ONE.

I don't know what it is...every hospital I've had the pleasure of being a temporary resident in (and believe me, I've been in all kinds) I am truly blessed with wonderful nurses who help me to get stronger. I really try to be a good patient, and have often been told I am.

So, why is it I get blessed with the one crazy nurse too? Just lucky I guess.

I am lucky because I get to laugh at the situation later. I truly can find the humor in things.

This weeks winner? We'll call her "Nurse Betty"...for the obvious reasons.

This woman was my night nurse for 3 nights and had about 5 patients each night. Let me tell you, this unit was not what you would call a high turnover unit, we were the same 5 all three nights.

I point this out because it will be important background to have when you read the following conversations that actually took place. Please also note that the voice used in ALL conversations was that of crazy insincerity, like that of a very high pitched cheerleader who just doesn't get it.

It should also be noted that Nurse Betty ended all her visits with "Okay...THANK YOU!"

Oh yeah...and she does wear ALL WHITE uniform like they did in the past. Just without the hat.

Grandy: Did you just give me two shots at one time?
Nurse Betty: Uh-Huh!
Grandy: Why?
Nurse Betty: I wanted to see if I could and it worked.

NB: It's 10pm and time for your pills!
Grandy: What are these? (there were 7)
NB: These are, ummmm...I'm not sure. **Dropping Pills** Shoot...don't take these, Satan has licked them already!
Grandy: (Thinking NB has done more than licked the pills) But I still don't know what they are for.
NB: I'll get you more.

NB: Why do we have a fever?
Grandy: I don't feel very well...I think it's time for some pain medication?
NB: (I kid you not people) Do you watch Oprah?
Grandy: **looking at mom**
NB: Why not?
Grandy: No time for talk shows
(Yep...didn't get the pain meds until I hit the button 30 min later)

Grandy's Sister (also a nurse): Excuse me, but my sister needs something to eat or something? Her blood sugars are low and she is a diabetic.
NB: She IS???
GS: Yes, you've been giving her insulin for 2 days and testing her blood sugars.
(you guessed it...nothing for an hour)

There were several other gems that I'm afraid kind of blurr together but I think you get the point of what I was in for.

Am I complaining? HECK NO!! I'm grateful for the ability to appreciate the others.

My Readers ROCK!! ROCK!!

I made it home from the hospital today (don't think I mentioned this wasn't an outpatient thing) and although I'm still pretty medicated I had to get online with my new laptop (thanks hubby) and see what you all had to say. I'll be checking in with you all in the next couple days.

In the meantime, thank you so much for your wonderful thoughts while I was away. I just love this blogging community!! Hubby sweetly offered to bring the laptop down to the hospital yesterday, but it would not have been pretty. Grandy blogging on Morphine? HA!! Not me, I'm a responsible blogger. I must draw the line at blogging on codeine (which I'm doing now).

I'm not going to take up too much of your time with this post. Just wanted to drop a quick note that I'm home, and I'll be back.

Oh yea...And I have the best blogging buds in the blogosphere!! ;)

If you haven't seen's new to you!

A man walks into a bar...Nah!

So the Priest says to the Rabi...Can't do that one either.

Folks, I'm just not feeling funny or entertaining tonight. I feel compelled to warn you now that, well, I got nothin'. I mostly use this blog to entertain myself, and if I entertain others well that's even better. But tomorrow is my big day, and I'm having a little trouble focusing.

Fold towel...put dish in dishwasher...sort through some mail...repeat.

Boy have I been here before.

Must. TRY!!

Oh...I know...I'll leave you with an earlier post from when my readership was um...2 (do you remember I only just started this blog in October?) Everyone has gotta start somewhere.

Hope you enjoy!

HUH!!! (Originally posted 11/7/07)

Have YOU ever been caught in an awkward moment?

Has your boss just said something that made absolutely no sense?

Ever had a friend decide they just HAD to have those 40 lb. cement turtles being sold by a vendor in Mexico, without a thought as to having to carry them home??

Tired of hearing demanding, unreasonable requests from clients who just don't seem to have brought their clue with them today? How about a spouse who has a bad habit of bringing home the latest "deals"? You name it!!

Well, I have THE magic word to get you out of any of these situations!! No, I'm not talking about WTF (which unless you're sending a text message, still counts as 3 words). Besides, the powerful word I am about to demonstrate for you can get you out of these situations PAINLESSLY and without repercussions.

Don't believe me? Well, for 3 easy payments of $19.95, you too can have the rights to use the word, "HUH!!" Now, please don't confuse this mighty word with the connotation often expressed with in the form a question (damn you Alex Trebek).

Huh? That's the wrong inflection and can only lead to trouble, or looking like an ignorant putz. HUH!! It's the magic word with the hidden mojo.

Think about using it as, "HUH! I hadn't thought of that before", or "HUH! What an interesting choice". The art of this word is making sure you say the word WITHOUT sounding like "Insert WTF here!!"

For example:
Client - Grandy, we want you to jump through this flaming hoop...backwards...on your head...while shoving knives into your eyes.
Grandy - HUH!!
***What they hear is, "HUH! That sounds like an interesting challenge!"
***What you mean is, "HUH! You truly think I get paid enough to wipe your butt??"

Girlfriends - WE BOUGHT TURTLES!!!
Grandy - HUH!!
***What they hear is, "HUH! Why didn't I think of that?"
***What you mean is, "HUH! What the hell for??" or "On Purpose??"

Hubby - I have no clean pants to wear.
Grandy - HUH!!
***What he hears is, "HUH! That's unfortunate, let me get that taken care of."
***What you mean is, "HUH! Well, that wouldn't be the case if you'd either wash some yourself, or tell me about it before you run out (while you're rubbing my feet)." Wait, that one really becomes too much of a fantasy. I think you get my point.

You should try it!! It's amazing how many people I've turned on to that one little word, because it works!!! You'll see that it will allow you to escape any awkward situation with your job, marriage, and pride in tact.

Try it for 30 days...or your money back!! GUARANTEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be missing all my blogging buds while I'm in the Hospital!

See you on the other side!!

I've been tagged yet again (although it was many moons and a lunar eclipse ago). Sandy has tagged me with Crazy 8’s Meme through her Twofer Tuesday.

I Couldn't Make This Up...PROMISE!

It was Cinco de Mayo 2002.

I had not been drinking but rather had just thrown a bridal shower for my future sister-in-law.

I got home and realized I was dangerously low on insulin and would have to drive the 17 miles into town to get it before the pharmacy was to be closed the next day.

Oh wait...before I go, I need to check the mail. Drive to corner, and park my 1998 Chevy Blazer across the street from the mailbox (the only time ever that I park there because hubby has been nagging me to do so) and get out to check the mail on the opposite corner.

As I turned the key to the mailbox, I hear a funny sound. Tires on loose gravel? Nah...can't be.

Slow turn...YEP...My car is driving itself UPHILL!!! WTF?

I run to catch up to it just as the front right tire caught the corner of my property, prompting it to turn. car (still without a driver) has now driven uphill AND made a right turn!!

My biggest fear is that it will head down the hill just past my house and either hit another car head on or take out a child. I am now running alongside my car!! Where is candid camera??

I get the door open and grab the steering wheel...just in time for that lovely right front tire to catch the lip of the property again and make a right turn ON the down hill.

I mentioned I had just thrown a bridal shower, so I was looking cute in my little spring overall outfit. However, the overalls did not come in handy when I lost my footing (still running beside vehicle but now damn thing has picked up speed going downhill) and fell. The overall strap caught on something either on the door or on the seat...who the heck cares...all I know is I am no longer "running" along side the vehicle. I am being DRAGGED along side the damn thing.

Through the wooden fence...then through a vegetable garden wired fence (oh yea...that stung a bit) and the vehicle finally came to a stop after colliding with our poor tree.

I am pleased to announce that no tree was actually harmed during this was stripped a little naked, but heck, so was I. The tree even has it's own cross with a dedication to the event (I'm surrounded by smarta$$e$). But the Blazer had almost $9000 damages. As for the fences? Hubby apparently had wanted to take those down anyway, although I'm quite certain their was an easier way to do so.

What I found out later is that the way the hill was angled, stopping the car where I did made me think I had put it in park. When I got across the street, the AC kicked on just enough to rev up the RPM just enough to give it motivation to get up the rest of the hill. Pair this up with the fact that I was apparently already low blood sugar...quite the recipe indeed.

Imagine Grandy, who at the time worked as an auto injury claims adjuster, calling in this claim to her carrier. **whispering**"Look...all I can say is the car drove off by itself! Make it my fault and send the appraiser!!

Did I mention that I truly am like Lucille Ball? I've got tons more of these.

It doesn't get much better...

How much do I love my hubby?? Let me count the ways!!

Yesterday was our anniversary...and yes...we went to the store and picked up THIS:

It's been very tough to blog lately as I've been putting in 12-14 hour days with work. For that matter, the last few weeks have been tough even to work and function and do anything but work.

BUT...This is about to change.

I mentioned that I have a procedure coming up, and I am. I'm having a surgery on Thursday. Part of my recovery when I get home will be that I need to be able to sit in a recliner. I don't know that this is necessarily a "perscription" but have been told that it is very helpful. Besides, Grandy loves recliners and being able to put her feet up. She has a sectional that has 3 and none of them work (we have a friend who can't seem to stop destroying things) and so now I have the perfect excuse for one.

So, Friday was my last day at work for about 8 weeks. Doctor says "Grandy has GOT to get her heart rate down". Well, Hubby and I went out yesterday...our anniversary...and baught 2 recliners (his & hers of course) and this glorious laptop. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!! trying to relax today, what is Grandy doing? She has her feet up in the recliner, is watching The Producers on TV, and catching up with all of you. You're going to get to see more of me for a few days...then I'll be out of commission for a few days...but I'll be back after that.

Sound alright with you all?

Thanks so much for all your arguments on the wood. It helped me in so many ways!! :)
