Grandy Needs...
Staci, over at Just Bloggled, ran this meme the other day. The rule is you run a google search on "your name + needs". She had some interesting hits with her first name, they were pretty good. The thought of using my ever-popular first name for such a search was a bit overwhelming, so I of course decided to do a search of "Grandy + needs".
Here goes nothing...top 10 things Grandy Needs (in David Letterman format):
10) Grandy needs SPHERICAL BRANDING: Really? Grandy is a little afraid of what that is, and did not branch further into clarification of that.
9) Grandy needs to sit: Well...DUH!!
8) Grandy needs a day off: Several...MANY
7) Grandy needs a real job: THIS Grandy understands that need...
6) Grandy needs to be on the big stage, in the big apple: A lifetime ago, that was my big dream.
5) Grandy needs a good dose of prozac: Now that must have been written specifically for THIS Grandy, who knows me in real life.
4) Grandy needs to be GRANDER: I'm TRYING people!!
3) Grandy needs a prophylactic: Well that's a bit personal...don't you think??
2) Grandy needs ALL THE HELP SHE CAN GET: Absolutely!!!
1) Grandy needs to take one for the team: Been there...done that...tell the team to STEP UP!!
So...this is what GOOGLE thinks that Grandy needs, huh?
VERY INTERESTING...
So folks, tell me what YOU need. :)

7. Have you ever cooked a meal by yourself for more than 15 people?
YEP - It was much fun!!

YEP - Again...how many times? I'm laughing out loud at the though of who might read this and have witnessed the many episodes (Hasta Pasta).
9. Have you ever done volunteer work?
YEP - TONS You name it...
See how easy this tag was? I encourage you all to fess up to your light poles and play along.

Random Grandy Finally Gets Video
The Rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you - Done
2. Post the rules on your blog - Done
3. List 6 random things about yourself - Really? Isn't this entire blog full of all Grandy Randomness??
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post - UGH! You're killing ME!!! Oh wait, it's doesn't say tag people and piss and moan in the process. I got it.
5. Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog - Ding Dong Ditching...here I come!!!
Hmmm...I can't be the only one thinking it's strange that the rules for 6 random things should have 6 rules. Right? I am the only one?
6 (more) Random things about Grandy:
1) Grandy has never watched an episode of Survivor. Ever. Never. Really. No intention to either.
2) Grandy can't wear just socks on her feet...not more than 5 minutes anyway. There is a strange obsession. I either have to wear slippers, shoes or NOTHING. Never just socks. It's a dry feet thing.
3) While we're on the subject, Grandy has a strange thing with dry skin and chapped lips. Too much of either of these will push me into
4) Grandy doesn't snore anymore.
5) Grandy gets a big kick out of this song on her CD (you will understand when you listen):
6) Speaking of COFFEE, Grandy just bought her first coffee maker 2 weeks ago. It took 1 week to figure out how to set the automatic start.
Now...for the tags.
Joyce-Anne - You're getting very good at playing along in the comments sweet cheeks! Share with us!!

A High School Grandy
In this meme Grandy must share 7 things about herself from...are you ready for this?...High School. Oh yeah...High School Grandy...fun fun! In this case we'll flash back to the f.k.a. (formerly known as) Brundage.

Actual pic of Grandy's High School...Home of the Vikings
1. Brundage/Grandy played goalie in field hockey all four years. It was merely an accident that she ended up as the goalie. In her first game she was playing fullback and lost.her.skirt. How is it she didn't get the memo from ANYONE that you are to wear shorts under the skirt? Hmmmm... A future in the role of goalie was born. Girls wielding sticks at Grandy meant nothing compared to the fact that she did not have to face the fear of losing her skirt (without tequila) again. Goalies don't wear skirts.
Not actual pic of Grandy...but close.
2. Brundage/Grandy has a friend from high school (we're still close) who she made laugh so hard that she shot grape juice out of her nose. Grandy was wearing all white at the time, and to this day has never let her live it down.3. Brundage/Grandy shared a 1981 AMC Spirit with her twin sister. We shared this car and rocked the hand-me-down generation with it. It had been San Diego Sister's car first, then Brother's (need to come up with a nickname for him) car. By the time it got to us, the gas guage didn't work (among other things). I can't tell you how many times we had to push the dang thing out of an intersection. It was a nice way to meet cute boys...but it did get old.

Ours was blue...but this is dead on!
4. Brundage/Grandy and her girlfriends and twin sister would have tons of sleepovers. **Psssst** ::whispering:: Don't tell Grandy's mom...but they were5. Brundage/Grandy grew up in an era where it was cool if you woke up and your house was toilet papered. It was "game-on" because it meant that they somehow got by you. Grandy and her friends would constantly wage a secret TP war against only the ones who could take it. Our circle of friends was pretty large, so the target was great. Having at least one driver in the group helped. And lucky for us, a couple of us had older brothers and older friends.

Oh yeah...this was not one of our houses...but we were this good.
6. Brundage/Grandy almost became a Brundage/Something Else. On graduation night I became engaged with my high school sweetheart. He was a sweet kid, and we were both so young. The circumstances of our break-up were painful, and let's face it, an 18 year old Grandy was in no way prepared for "marriage", or anything close to it. I can't imagine what would have happened if my life went by way of the "Ellis". This blog would take on a whole different meaning, that's for sure.
7. Brundage/Grandy was one of those annoying girls who thoroughly enjoyed her high school experience. School was all about the social aspect. Pep rallys, dances, games...we did it all. I'm not sure I could live through it again, but I'm certainly glad I did.
Does this really suprise anyone?? Really?!?
Class of 1990 Rocks!!
I'm tagging everyone for this meme because how fun it is to revisit some of the good times from high school. Besides, some of you NaBloPoMo peeps may need some material to help get you through the month.
Just please make sure you let me know if you're playing along so I can come check it out.
See you all tomorrow!!
**Oh yeah! THANK GOODNESS FOR GOOGLE IMAGES**

Goin' Pink for the "GIRLS"
With the recent tragedy of Jennifer Hudson, her family, and all the other families that face horrible abusive actions, I'm reminding everyone again that it's also Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Well I have been tagged for another meme. This one I can't put off any longer because we want to get the big push out there this month. (And no, I'm not talking about rock the effing vote. I'm SO DONE with political propaganda.)
This meme from Mariuca is to Join the Pink Sisterhood.

On her site, Mariuca sited some important facts that women should know about breast cancer and awareness. Well, Grandy realizes that everyone is out there reminding women to check their breasts. Some blogs are out there reminding men to check their women's breasts, although I'm not sure they feel they need to be told. If you don't believe me, check out this link: Breast Exam and see the video. If my techie skills didn't suck so bad, I'd be able to put the video here for you.
So Grandy is going to make you aware of a few different things related to breast cancer...in her own Grandy style. Ready? OKAY! (Ugh...little bit of vomit...sounding like a high school cheerleader)
1. Have you seen staypositivegreetings.com? Kathy DiPofi Shelton is a breast cancer survivor who, like so many brave women with her, has decided to do her part to make a difference. What she has done is create an entire website that sells cards and gifts for women battling breast cancer. They have support cards, funny cards, and fun little gifts. She and her family then donate 10% of all sales to various cancer research sites. This woman chose to find laughter through her adversity...and for that, I raise my hat BOOBIES to her and her site.

Or.......
Created by DiscoverBG
3. Lastly...women...let's learn about our breasts. No two apples are the same, so why not embrace what you have and study up with 8 Fun Facts About Your Breasts.
This meme requires that I tag 7 other blogs to help raise awareness. I follow so many, and also know that many of you have already posted about the awareness.
But what do ya say?
Feel like a challenge?
Join the Pink Sisterhood and let me know if you want to join the push to save the BOOBIES.

Another Meme from the Road
I may have done this before, but the rules change just a bit each time that I'm not sure. Not wanting to be the pooper of the partay, I feel compelled to oblige.
Here are the rules…And my commentary of course.
1. List these rules on your blog. ~CHECK
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog. ~NEW FACTS?? What haven't I covered?
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs. ~Easy enough
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. ~Alright, quit nagging.
My 7 facts are:
1. I am #5 of five children (my twin is #4 by only one minute). #1 is Nurse Sister, 9 years older. You might remember her from I C more of U. #2 is in San Diego, I'll have to come up with a nick-name for her. For that matter I should post something dedicated to her. #3 is Poor Brother. I say poor brother because he is the only boy sandwiched in between 4 girls, and he always thought he deserves special pity for it. You can see I feel thoroughly sorry for him.
2. I am a HUGE Disney fan. I want to go to Disney World some day, but until then, I will just watch the commercials and dream. It's been a couple years since I've been to D-Land, and I'm thinking I'm about due for another trip.
3. I have now lost a little over 60 lbs in a year. Still working at it...still trying. I have about 15 lbs to go. It's very cool. I don't necessarily do well with compliments, but it does feel pretty good when people call me skinny.
4. I can sing. Yikes, I don't admit to that very often because people will then ask me to show them. Whatever... like I'm auditioning on some sort of Star Search (oh wait, just dated myself, I meant to say American Idol). I sing in church, and used to perform for a living, I have even been known to knock a few people down in random Karaoke performances.
5. I am way too involved with Boy Scouts of America. I have recently agreed to take on the role of Committee Chair for our troop. I love these kids, and want to give them a great program. The previous chair is stepping down due to just needing a bit of a break. Quick...someone get the eraser and take "SUCKER" off my forehead.
6. I'm technically challenged. I have friends and family who buy me technical gadgets and I am too embarrassed to tell them I don't know how to work it. When I read some technical blogs, I get really confused and afraid to leave a comment in fear of being laughed at (and not with).
7. I am preparing for my annual Relay for Life, for the American Cancer Society. I've participated in it for the last 6 years, in honor of my Dad. It's a 24-hour event that raises money for cancer research (oh yeah, Grandy moves from one mission to another). I'll have to do a post about it, but you can visit my personal page here.
Now for the tagging...
eastcoastlife - You will have to post about something other than buns and feet. :)
Joyce-Anne - I don't know if you have a blog...I haven't found you, but I so appreciate you stopping by and commenting, I'd like to learn more about you. Tell me how to find you.
Theresa Komor - You'll have to tell me which of your blogs you'll be posting this on.
Malone! - Because I can never learn too much about you my friend.
mysecondjournal - I'm sure you can come up with something on these 7. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
glam - I know it may not fit your awesome fashion blog, but you have others. Let me know if you decide to play, and where you're playing. :)
Dirty Laundry Diva - Oh yeah, the trials and tribulations of your NewscasterHottie, and crazy people in your life...I can't wait to see what you share. :)
Anyone else want to play? Feel Free!! Just make sure you leave a comment to let me know so I can come check it out.
How many of you nuts are still part of the Blog365? Need a topic to blog about??

Let's Change the Pace
I wanted to do something to change my irritable mood. Monday I ranted about bra shopping and my incredible shrinking breastseses, and Tuesday I ranted about work and morons. I thought today, since it wasn't too far off from yesterday, I would try to keep the mood light by stealing Tina's meme.
WHAT WERE YOU DOING 10 YEARS AGO? - Moving to Northern California, with my son who was 2. I left my hometown to live near my sister and a bigger city so I could find a good job. I did more than that...I found my hubby too. :)
WHAT ARE THE 5 THINGS ON YOUR "TO DO" LIST? - Get Ty signed up for football, get car washed, fold laundry, blog, and take over the world.
3)SNACKS THAT YOU ENJOY - String Cheese, crackers, and yogurt. Not necessarily together though. Boring huh?
4) THINGS I DO IF I WERE A BILLIONAIRE -
1.Pay off my house, mom's house, 3 sisters' and one brother's house, a mother-in-law's house, and brother/sister-in-law's house.
2.Pay to send everyone on a vacation...but not necessarily together because hey, I just paid off your house, give me some SPACE already.
3.Quit.my.job. and...
4.Get.out.of.debt.
5) PLACES WHERE I HAVE LIVED - Salinas, CA (Hometown), Fresno, CA (College town), Missoula, MT (Temporary), Sacramento, CA (this is for you Mrs. F, my fellow SacTown Lady) and my small town now...45 miles away...in the sticks...That's In the Sticks, CA (right Malone! ?)
6)BAD HABITS THAT I HAVE - I overwork myself, I'm too hard on myself, I say what I think too much, I pick my nose (no really, I was just making sure you were still reading this), I drive too fast, I cry easily.
7) JOBS THAT I HAVE HAD - Claims Adjuster, Receptionist, Telemarketer (1 week), Orange Julius Smoothie Girl (before Jamba Juice), Tour Actor/Director, Waitress, MOM.
So...help yourself to this meme, and let me know you've done it so I can come learn more about you all. :) I'm going to spare everyone and not tag...but it doesn't mean you don't have to comment.

New Tag from a New Guy
Now...enough serious stuff.
I have been tagged...by a new guy nofaceberg for a 7 Useless Facts Meme. I have to show my support to Danny, who appears to have just started his blog. I thought we could all use some Grandy silliness.
Grandy and useless facts...Oh...Watch out Wiki...Grandy's comin'.
1. I once rear-ended one of my best friends. - Yes, she still talks to me...she just doesn't blog as much as she should, huh Dens?
2. When I was little, I once tried to stand and pee into a bush...in my front yard. - I was little, but it was traumatizing enough that I never forgot it. My brother was
3. I've lost 50 lbs from May 2007 to today. - Can Grandy get a Woot WOOT?
4. I once swallowed a tooth. - If gum takes 7 years to digest, and you can grow a watermelon if you eat the seed, will the tooth chew both??
5. I sing in my car. LOUD!
6. I've secretly been curious to see what would happen if I put a profile in e-Harmony, Match.com, or dates-r-us.org (I know you're going to google that but don't bother) and then make a profile for the Hubby and see if we're a match. - I'm guessing that on paper it's probably a no. But oh...does he clean up GOOD!! Who needs paper anyway?
7. I hate shopping for clothes. - To all my friends out there who could make a career out of it, and are that good...I applaud you. You ladies have STYLE! Me? I am trying. But seriously, it's not much fun shopping for fat clothes. There are certain stores, with the initials R.O.S.S. that have adorable skinny clothes. However, the store in my area...in my old size...all they had were moomoos and sequence. Why shop?? Now, Fashion Bug, if you've ever heard of it, they have cute skinny and fat clothes.
Well, there you have it!! More useless facts about Grandy. Ya know, I did consider putting 7 previous posts about me as the useless facts, since I sometimes feel like that's all you get from Grandy...a bunch of useless moments.
Oh well, if it makes y'all feel better about what you've got, then BRING IT ON!!
I'll spare everyone from a tag but remind you to let me know if you decide to play so I can come see.

Meme Mix-Up of Distinction
What...you don't believe me? I know...my friends over at Dictionary.com have 10 definitions for distinction. The first half are crappy and boring, but I think I'm kinda partial to these:
6. a distinguishing or treating with special honor, attention, or favor.
7. an act of bestowing, or a mark of, honor or favor.
8. marked superiority; note; eminence.
Definitely not this one:
10. Obsolete. division; separation. (who wants that?)
Well, if you still don't believe me, you can see for yourself at I'd Like to Thank the Academy.... Thank you, Suzanne. I appreciate it.
Now, it's been a while since I've been suckered tagged for a meme. I happened to stumble across this one over at storyteller's site last week sometime. I personally think she was seeing if I was really paying attention. Did I pass? Not yet.
This one is hard for me to figure out, and I've read it lots. Here are the rules...
TAGGING RULES
1. Copy all the links below and replace your blog beside the appropriate letter. For example if your blog name starts with the letter “D” then replace the link beside “D” with yours, and put the replaced link at the bottom of the list. Also add the person who tagged you at the bottom of the list.
2. Tag at least 5 people and encourage them to take part of the game - tag blogs only and only those without bad rated material like pornographic, violence, racism etc.

How bout that? I can't tag anyone because...well...I just don't get it. I'm happy to edit this if someone wants to explain what I'm doing. Otherwise, I fear this meme is dead with me.
Oh the pressure is unbearable!!
Oh well! Did I tell you I got a new award??

Some Crab and Some Meme
I was looking through a local magazine and noticed that from about the end of January to the end of March, every weekend there is a FEED.
Not a spaghetti feed, or a live feed, but the ultimate of all feeds...the CRAB FEED.
It's interesting to go to these fund raisers where people go and stuff themselves, all in the name of raising money. When you look at the above picture, you think it must be an exhaggeration. Readers, it's not. They bring you tray by tray of this stuff.
Tonight's cause? It was a group of ice skaters. I originally drove to babysit my sister's boys, so she & the hubby could go out, but he is sick with a cold and so I got to go in his place. Sorry...one man's cold is Grandy's tummy ache.
So, as I recover from the ample amounts of butter and crab, I might as well respond to this meme I was tagged with by good ol' Kelly O.
Name something you do everyday: Brush my teeth (I know, thank goodness)
Name 2 things you wish you could learn: Sign language (always been fascinating), organizational skills (I make the effort, but applying it daily is a struggle).
Name 3 things that remind you of your childhood: Summer evenings when it stays late forever (it gave new meaning to "in by dark"), Competative softball (there were years we played year round), and Jerry Lewis Telethon (Hated that damn show...school started the next day).
4 things you love to eat but rarely do: Mississippi Mud Pie (lost the recipe), avocado (I love a good ripe one but am not good at buying one), Crab (I know I know, but I only go to these once or twice a year) and lemon bars (again with the recipe, but this was one of the first things I learned to bake).
Name 5 things/people that make you feel good: I'm blessed with many people in my life, so I'll go with things, for the obvious reasons - A good hair day, pretty nails, fitting in pants that I haven't been able to wear for a while, ice-cold water.
I don't know that I'm going to tag anyone for this but I'm inviting anyone who wants to play, feel free. Just let me know when you're done so I can come check it out. :)

To Pick Just 7 is Difficult
Here is how it works:
- Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. - Check
- Share 7 random and/or weird things about yourself. - About to Check
- Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs. - 7? What if I have 7 people who are sick of doing meme's? I'll have to be creative about this.
- Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. - Ok...as soon as I come up with the 7...my brain can think of 3 so far.
Here goes nothing...
1. I dig musicals!! - Not sure this gets more random, but you asked. When my boys are gone and I have the house to myself (such as today) I turn on the XM channel on my satellite and listen to the "Broadway Channel". I dig how I can get random music from Pirates of Penzance, bounce over to Assassins, Cabaret, and then get an original recording from Oklahoma. Ethel Merman singing something from Gypsy never hurt anyone either.
2. PB&J on Crackers ROCKS!! - Not sure if this fits in the category of weird or random...maybe both. Snacking on it right now...Yummy!!!
3. Like Mrs. G., I have secret boyfriends - Without going into too many specifics, and in fear that some of you will steal, I will reveal one. Antonio Banderas...how does so much sexiness fit into one man?? And he SINGS!! See the musical thing above. Be still my beating heart!!!
4. I am a recently recovering carbonation addict - I know there could be worse addictions, and it's not the sugary sodas I'm talking about. It's the diet sodas, sparkling waters, sugar-free energy drinks, etc. For health reasons, I've recently had to give up all things carbonated. SUCK!! I love me some sugar-free peach soda!! I had a pity party for a few days, binged, and got over myself. I'm now 10 days without carbonation. :D
5. I have funny nails - Oh yea, people get their nails done and get them looking elegant and pretty. Mine are flashy and fun. I get the special powder that has all things glittery and sparkly, and have that put on my tips. Like a french manicure, but with (as they are now) blue sparkly tips. It's a weird thing I like to do because it's fun.
6. I once grabbed the wrong man's a$$ - Yep...I was at a restaurant with a salad bar. My then boyfriend had gone up to the salad bar, and when I went up there I smacked this hottie on the butt (oh yea, I grabbed hold). Of course I thought it was my boyfriend, who, at that exact moment called my name from the OTHER side of the salad bar. oops!! HI!!
7. My first job was working at Orange Julius - Oh yea, the early smoothie rage began there. I ultimately left due to "creative differences", and something to do with the fact that they were afraid because their 20 year old son liked me...I was 15. Oh well!!
Now for the tagging! While trying to narrow my weirdness down to just 7 things, I've decided to tag 7 newbies. Yep, 7 people who are still relatively new to this blogging thing, and perhaps we could all stand to learn of these folks.
- Dens at Black cats R lucky - This is my girlfriend from high school who recently started her own blog. Go check her out...she's about as "random" as they come.
- Mike Golch at rambling stuff - The title of his site alone should lend for some interesting randomness.
- Melissa at Part Of Everything - This little lady started about the same time as I did, but I don't recall if she's had her meme on. I'd love to hear some random weirdness from her.
- http://jugglinglife.typepad.com/juggling_life/ - She is a great new blogger that I was introduced to recently. Her way with words will amuse you.
- krissy at either Firecracker Mom! or If I only had a brain!!!!! - If cracking up is a talent, this woman must be seen.
- Now this one may not be new, but new to you, but I have to tag beautiful faboo at faboo mama as she will have some great random comments.
- "Anonymous" - There are lots of you that lurk out there, stop and read, and don't let me know that you've been here. For those of you who have not yet "de-lurked" please be advised you have officially been tagged!!! Let me know where to find you at your meme.
