Happy Anniversary Honey!!

Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary.

Six years ago, on March 1st, my Hubby finally gave in and made the best decision he ever made. It's a good thing too, because it has worked out pretty well for this girl too.

A couple weeks ago I saw a meme over at Jenn's place where it was all about her Hubby, Mr. Fixit. Well knowing that this special day was coming, I thought it would be perfect to post it here.

1)Husbands Name: Hubby (just here on the blog)
2)How long have you been married?: 6 years ago Tomorrow!!
3)How long did you date?: 4 1/2 years
4)How old is he?: 39
5)Who eats more sweets?: I think he does now...although he wouldn't admit it.
6)Who is the better singer?: ME
7)Who is smarter?: I think we compliment each other. He knows a lot of stuff about crap...and I know a lot of crap about good stuff.
8)Who does the laundry?: I do most of the laundry...he will do some if I boycott his socks and underwear. Someday he'll get the hint that he needs to help.
9)Who pays the bills?: ME
10)Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me. Wait, are we asking for right side as we face the bed?
11)Who mows the lawn?: He doesn't let me drive the riding lawn mower with the blades down. It's for the best...really!!!
12)Who cooks dinner?: We both do...depends.
13)Who drives?: Mostly him
14)Who is the first to say they are wrong?: ME!! But he's come a looooong way through the years.
15)Who kissed who first?: Him...and it was about time.
16)Who asked who out first?: I asked him out...scared to death because I hadn't ever done that and I liked him.
17)Who wears the pants?: We both do...but mine are cuter. ;)

I LOVE YOU HONEY!!!

I Know I Shouldn't Complain BUT...

To my lovely son, who will be 13 in less than a month and is insecently reminding me of this fact all.the.time., I would like to just gently remind you of a couple things:

1. When you do the dishes, you must try to do remember the dishes on the counter and around the sink, and not just IN the sink. I'm sure there is room for them all since you started the dishwasher with 13 forks, 6 glasses, 4 plates and 2 pieces of tupperware.

Oh wait...must remember... It COULD be WORSE.

2. Even though there are exactly 3 squares of toilet paper left on the roll, you most certainly DID finish the roll. Technically you should replace it.

I know...It COULD be WORSE.

3. When I remind you to transfer your laundry, I don't think what I'm saying is, "Please take my clothes out of the dryer, wad them into a ball, and cram them between the counter and cabinet where there is no hope for removing the wrinkles." No...I don't think I'm saying that at all.

Bless your heart... It COULD be SO MUCH WORSE.

Repeat after me folks: I WILL NEVER COMPLAIN ABOUT MY KIDS AGAIN!!

True!

However, I will embrace him when need be and encourage him to be what he wants. I will embrace his uniqueness...and threaten to kick him in the junk if he ever comes home with even a drawing of him looking like one of these.

I will frankly now have nightmares for a week because of these images.

Sunday Stalker Spotlight Coming Soon

Blogger has a feature that allows people to stalk "follow" other blogs. This is different than the RSS feed, or even Google Reader. When I log in to my blog, there is a window down below that shows latest posts on all the blogs I stalk follow.

Grandy has of course dubbed hers as a stalker central, only because she's a dork that way. It is not because she doesn't truly appreciate all the people who follow this blog. I appreciate ALL my readers, whether you stop to comment or not.

As a matter of fact, I sometimes forget that some family and friends actually read my blog. I was talking to Mom on the phone the other day, about something that happened during my day, and she responds with, "Oh and you're having computer issues to boot!" Of course, I responded with, "How do you know that?"

DUH!!!

Why would my mother NOT check in on what her daughter is posting all over the world wide web for all the world to see? I'm sure her curiosity has gotten the better of her from time to time, to see what embarrassing moment I might be ever-so-willing to share with the world.

Well, to show my appreciation for all my followers in Stalker Central over there, I am going to start a weekly feature here in Grandy-Land called "Sunday Stalker Spotlight", where I will feature the post about a given stalker for the week. I would like to know more about the people that follow my craziness, and see what makes you all tick.

Have any of you actually peaked into your follower list? It's a great window into the different people your reaching. A note to some of you stalkers out there...HOW DO YOU KEEP UP? I see several that have about 10 blogs listed under their profile. There are those that have one very awesome blog, but it shows zero because maybe it's not a Blogger blog, but Wordpress or something.

So stalkers...expect an email from me (or a comment somewhere on your blog if I can't find an email) eventually, asking if you would like to participate in my "Sunday Stalker Spotlight". If you would prefer to do skip it, I understand and will not whine (much).

I look forward to giving you all a chance to SHINE here in Grandy-Land.

Is it really WTF Wednesday Already?

Thank goodness for Google Images folks because this picture is truly about how I feel right now. Seeing a picture of it makes me smile as it means I don't have to do this with my desktop.

Good news is that my rockin' twin sister with computer brain will look at my desktop when I can get it to her. Bad news is...Geek Squad is still diagnosing the laptop, "call back on Friday".

Breathe Grandy!

Really folks...are you sensing my panic? I have to develop a business plan that is due MONDAY!!! I am trying my best with the desktop but it keeps freezing, and I have been busy as all get out with work.

Breathe Grandy!!

DRINK GRANDY!!!

Guess what Grandy has learned since being deprived (on account she's depraved) of her laptop?

Hubby watches CRAP on TV. Usually I can ignore it because of my laptop, but this is insane. Really? Honey? I love you so very much...but a woman who is experiencing withdrawals doesn't want to watch Rambo First Blood again. It's possibly not good for her frustration levels to see so much violence and bad acting all at once.

Computer Issues

Grandy's laptop is currently visiting the Laptop Doctors. She would like to come visit you all from her desktop, but it appears that is having more issues than the Laptop was.

She will try her best to come visit you all soon by trying to sneak a peak from work the end of the week, but unfortunately deadlines are rapidly approaching Grandy this week too. UGH!!

Please don't think she's left you, she will try to get to you as soon as she can.

In the meantime, please feel free to maybe peruse some past favorites, or check out some of the hotties on my blog roll. Wait...I do need to update my blog roll too, don't I?

::Sigh::

Grandy will see you all ASAP!!! PROMISE!!!!

Snow Day

Here is a picture I took from my cell phone this morning. It's a picture taken from my front door.

When I got home from work yesterday there wasn't much left on the ground from the other day. Then as I walked in the door it started DUMPING!

It's a good thing today was my day to work remote from home. :)

I'm thankful that I live in an area where I want to take pictures, and not just of the rednecks.

Grandy's Gym Guilt

There is something that has been nagging at me since...um...since about April.

See, per the doctors orders in November 2007, I stopped going to the gym. I had the ultimate gym pass...please excuse Grandy from over exerting herself in any exercise capacity as her heart just can't take it right now.

Fast forward to April...and then May...June...July... you get the point.

Truth is, after my surgery in March I struggled with my energy level SO MUCH. As I tried to go back to functioning with work, and other random crap, it was all I could do to keep going, much less keep my butt going to the gym. Here were all these people shortly after their surgeries asking the doctor when they could get back to working out. Instead I had convinced myself that I had convinced my Hubby that it was at least 9-10 months before I could get back to the gym.

About two weeks ago Ty says, "Mom the lady from the gym called."

My immediate reaction? WHY?! Are they looking for me and wondering where the heck I've been? I've never cancelled my membership, and have paid for it monthly, even though I haven't been in since November 2007.

Last Monday I sheepishly call the gym and speak with gym lady.

"Hi! Someone called my house looking for me?"

- "Yes we did, Mrs. Grandy.

"Why? Were you wondering why I didn't come back with the other resolutioners?"

Silence...pause

"Hello?"

- "I don't get it."

"Sorry, it was a bad joke about the fact that I haven't been in there in over a year. What can I do for you?"

- "Oh! That's funny! No, we don't care about that!! We are just changing our automatic withdrawl methods from your checking to using a debit card."

***DING*** Lightbulb has gone ON!!

What did Grandy hear out of that conversation? Oh, we don't care if you go on being a lazy ass for the rest of your life...so long as we can continue to suck you dry.

That was all I needed. I got all that square, added Ty to my membership for $10/month, and told him to be ready. What a perfect workout buddy to have! He was wanting to get into shape anyway, but wasn't sure how to go about doing that.

Well, even with scouts and crazy schedule we made it 3 times last week. I'll be darned if I let the gym hose me for FREE!! If I'm going to pay...I might as well PLAY!!

Note to self: Post update on my lazy ass in about 90 days to see if I'm still going.

2009 Knowing Grandy Better

We all get these in our email so rather than send it out to everyone in my email, I thought it would be fun blogger fodder for me to post it here and ask you all to play along. It's not technically a meme...but it is all about "Me"-me, so it fits.

Should I be Nervous?

Man!!! Grandy just can't get a break!!!

2009 is really starting out with promise and although I've been really busy with work, I'm really working make some serious progress in my career and my personal life.

I can't tell you what those things are just yet...but I assure you I am working on some good things.

So, when I went over to check in on LadyJava at one of her many sites, and I stumbled across this little Chinese New Year horoscope she had, I thought I just had to check it out. I'm so excited about the year I'm going to have, I was hoping I would find something to confirm my positive outlook.

Here is what I found instead...

Rat
You’re not as lucky as last year. There are several unlucky stars influencing the Rat. However, there are still eight favourable months ahead. Your luck in career and wealth is good, but not in love and health.

Career:

You have a lucky star this year. Your boss will appreciate your talents and you will get the promotion you’ve been eyeing. But it won’t happen if you don’t fight for it. For merchants, bankers and sales people, you will make more than sufficient money.

Love life:

Rats are not lucky in love this year. For married people, you’ll have frequent quarrels with your spouse. For those in love, it’s not a good time to push the existing relationship to the next level. Your love interest could have a change of heart. For singles, set aside some time for social life and you might find a new love interest, but do not expect things to develop rapidly.

Health:

You’re vulnerable to accidents and diseases. Too much pressure and lack of sleep might lead to poor health. Go for an annual medical check-up.

Take note:

Remember the old Chinese saying: Having good health is good luck.

*****

Now I'm depressed. Where's my wine? Are we sure I didn't stumble into the 2007 or 2008 Chinese New Year horoscope?

Now I'm having dejavu.

SUCK!!

Grandy's Wacky Weekend

Oh my goodness! What a WEEKEND!!!

Rather than give you the verbal blow by blow, Grandy is going to give the highlights as if you were watching SportsCenter(how appropriate for SuperBowl Sunday is that?). There were some definite HIGHLIGHTS and FUMBLES for the weekend but the HIGHLIGHTS won overall.

Friday - Grandy scores primo seats to pro basketball game (Sacramento Kings v. Chicago Bulls) and turns it into date night with her Little Grandy. The Kings got spanked but Ty got to go onto the court and shoot a free-throw afterwards. = HIGHLIGHT!

Saturday - Grandy hooks up with GOOD FRIEND who hasn't blogged in FOREVER. We have been friends since High School and she was on her way through town on her way to a ski weekend. A quick lunch and good memories were shared. = HIGHLIGHT!

Saturday - Ty is off to sleep-over and Hubby decides it would be fun to hang out with some friends in Sacramento. Grandy agrees...only if Hubby promises we don't get home too late. Good times were had by all when Grandy played bartender... = HIGHLIGHT
Sidenote: The recipe that comes on the bottom of this hand-painted martini glass is AWESOME!!

...but the Grandys got home at 3am. = FUMBLE

Sunday - Grandy gets up in time to get her hiney to Church. = HIGHLIGHT

...after Church she is confronted by a friend who proceeds to tell her how she feels Grandy and her Hubby have done her wrong by being honest in a Scout situation. It was crunchy indeed, and Grandy respectfully disagreed and honestly told the truth (which hurts this person, I promise) and finally got away after an hour. = FUMBLE

Sunday - Grandy cleaned her kitchen, did 4 loads of laundry, tried to catch up on some blogging, and is HOPEFULLY going to get to sleep early tonight. = HIGHLIGHT!!!!

As you can see... the HIGHLIGHTS won all the way around.

So tell me readers...what did YOU do this weekend??? Inquiring minds want to know.
