The Crue Review

IS SACRAMENTO EVERYBODY READY TO ROCK?!?

::Pic taken by Grandy's phone::

Can Grandy get an Ooh Yeah???

::Pic NOT taken by Grandy's phone::

Well, the Grandy family had a blast at Cruefest on Tuesday night!!

I won't lie to you, I'm pretty sure I will be scarred for life by some of the images I witnessed with my son. Not because I witnessed them, mind you, but because he witnessed them in front of me. When we got there, I instantly started to feel better because there were LOTS of kids there, many were much younger than my guy. When we left, I was feeling...well stunned.

It was a great crowd. Beach balls bouncing in the air, people enjoying their friends, their music, and their beer. Yes, some even enjoyed their herbal treats.

Hubby asked me after the concert, "What did you expect? They're called Motley Crue. What do you think "Motley" means?" At that moment, I didn't have an answer. But dictionary.com says it's one of these:

1.exhibiting great diversity of elements; heterogeneous: a motley crowd.
2.being of different colors combined; parti-colored: a motley flower border.
3.wearing a parti-colored garment: a motley fool.

I had never been to a Motley Crue concert, but he had. He could have warned me...that's all I can say. It was only AFTER the concert that he told me they had the absolute worst reputation for being nasty on stage.

I can't go into specific detail with you all because you'll efing call CPS on me I don't want to brag, or ruin it for the rest of you.

What I will do, is share a short list of things I will have some splainin' to do later:

5. Other uses for leather...It's not just for jackets ya know.

4. What IS that funny smell? - I was honest and told him what the smell was, I just didn't have an answer for why it smelled "so funny". Any advice parents?

3. No, that's NOT fighting they're doing in the Mosh Pit.

2. Why too much liquor can cause you to kiss too many people...and in public.

And last...certainly not least...the one that requires no explanation but will help you know my horror...

1. T!T-E-CAM

All I can say, despite the pornographic videos slightly disturbing images on the screens, it was a good show. Papa Roach, Buck Cherry, Trapt, Sixx-AM. A good show indeed.

Now, according to hubby, it only gets cleaner from here. I frankly don't have any interest in seeing Marilyn Manson anyway.

I'm not a big fan, so I had no idea to warn you-because I had NO clue.

Yikes! At least you've got the opportunity to tackle some tough topics before he becomes a teenager and the hormones take over...

I was so glad we opted for a babysitter when we went to Ozzfest a couple years ago. There were women there wearing pasties with the whole front of their bodies painted. Oy vey!

Sounds like you had a (mostly) good time, though. Yes?

Whoa. Minus the bewbs and funny smells, sounds like it was a great time!

I can only imagine the awkwardness. :S

Too funny! My husband took our avant guard (sp?) twelve year old to a Judas Priest concert a couple of weeks ago and said he was scared for both of their lives.

hahahahahaha!!! Oh. Yes, that uncomfortable feeling when witnessing something with your child. Yeah. Know it.

It smells funny because it's skunk weed which is...oh...not a *literal* explanation? Well, now he knows why it is called wacky tobacky.

So glad you had fun, and yes, it does get tamer from there.

Can't imagine what all that ENERGY felt like. :-)

When it comes to "that smell", I'm covered because here, there is something they burn in the trash that smells just. like. that. (yeah...I was pretty shocked when I first came over!!)...I can just say "it's that trash like in Japan." :-D
My boys would probably not be fazed at all by most of that because most of what you mentioned...we have on regular tv most nights!!!
Oy Vey!

Boobs and pot are pretty tame compared to the real horrors out there. Glad you survived. It will surely be something you can share at his wedding

You can see bare-chested women at Mardis Gras too, so I'd say that's pretty tame. But then, I'm a grown up!

I'm not a Crue fan, but glad you and your son enjoyed. Uhm...you did enjoy?

Christina~ Am I to assume he knows what "whacky tobacky" is? Am I naive? (spell check?)

Jacqueline~ I was PRAYING for some contact on that one. Certainly wasn't drinking but needed one.

DK~ Oh...I'm going to use that! "What's that smell?" Someone's burning their trash...in Japan. :D

Jess~HAHA!! I hadn't even thought about the tags, other than my horror with my son. Need a "Mother of the Year" tag and that would say it all. Tommy Lee kicked a$$.

XUP~ You always have a way about you, that makes me feel better. :)

Oops! Sorry Travis~ I did have a good time...and Mardi Gras is so not a family thing. Something about people "gone wild".

I would enjoy such a concert... with my son, he would be the holy one. hehe....

The concerts in Singapore are squeaky clean and definitely no porn! My son was stunned when we were in Japan and the porn comes on at night. :) Great learning sessions he had.

ECL~ You are the SECOND person to say that. Don't tell my hubby or he'll want to move to Japan. ;)
