I've missed you too!!

Wow...what a week!! Was traveling on business and then when I got home, lacked the energy even to BLOG! What's wrong with this picture? Well, to be quite honest, when I was home I just wanted to sit with the family. I know many of you agree with why I would do that.

I miss my blog and my blogging buddies when I can't write. I feel like you're all worried about me if I can't post for a day, but I realize it's been several days and I've not even had a chance to really check in on all of you. This...dear readers...SUCKS for me. Must...Get...To...BLOG!!

In two weeks is my 5 year wedding anniversary. Just after that, I'll be out of commission for several days (having a "procedure") and while recovering, I would love to BLOG!! But in order to do that...I NEED A LAPTOP!!

So, today Hubby asks me, "What is the 5 year anniversary gift anyway?" Glorious flashback to our first anniversary when he heard the "gift" was paper and had a picture of flowers emailed to me, so I could print it on paper. Oh yeah, that hubby is a clever man indeed.

My answer? A Laptop!! Seriously, this answer came off the top of my head and for some reason made me laugh so hard I was almost on the floor! I'm so lucky that I crack myself up. I think somewhere I read it was wood or silverware, but not needing either, I'm making the case for this (or something like it):

Readers, if you can help me in my argument at all, I promise it will help us all out!! You won't have to miss me for weeks at a time. How do I avoid the wood or silverware???

Share your comments...please!!!!

Okay, so you know I'm all for the laptop...since MZ got me mine for Christmas(isn't he wonderful??) We told Mr. Grandy on that day we all met for breakfast that you would be able to blog and spend time with the family at the same time all in the same room...even on the toilet if need be..but we won't go there..hehehe...and if you use it for work or any business stuff, you can write it off..kaaching$$$.

There some really good deals at Costco right now and BestBuy...
MZ is the computer geek in this family..so I'm sure he could answer any questions before you make the big purchase.
You don't need wood or silverware..but you could get a silver laptop...heheh...

Just as an FYI - if he gets stuck on the wood thing I know Dell makes a laptop with a wood grained case. My friend has one and it is gorgeous.

But hey, I say that in 2008, the five year anniversary MUST be laptop!!!

Pro for LapTop - it travels with you around the house. I bring mine downstairs and blog while the rest of the Malone's are watching TV. It allows me to stay 'close' to what's going on and not feel as though I'm hiding upstairs.

G$ got ours at Fry's, $450ish. You options are endless! My computer geek also said that geeks.com has good info.

Oh, another PRO - Ty can use for homework. Typing book reports?

How's that? xoxo

Good Morning Grandy,
I have missed you but I totally understand that when you came back you wanted to spend your time with your Family. That's how it should be in my book anyway. I'm that way on the weekends when my DH is at home. I thought that was so funny about sending you some flowers so you could print it out on PAPER. LOL. Sounds like a man to me there. LOL. I remember one year for Valentine's, I had been bugging my DH for some Roses for my Valentine's gift from him. He was working 2nd shift at the time in a factory and when he came home that night he had me a box of candy that had Roses on the top of the box. He handed me the box and said, here are your Roses. I LOL and could have killed him there on the spot. LOL. Needless to say, I still have the top of that box around here somewheres. I guess it was the thought that counted. About your laptop that you are wanting, well find you one that has alot of Silver on it and that will take care of the Silver part. LOL. Just a thought. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Welcome back. I'm holding the good thought that you'll get your laptop. It's the ONLY way to blog from anywhere and everywhere.
Hugs and blessings,

Life without a laptop? Can't remember it.

I think between an anniversary and a "procedure" you definitely need a laptop. I think that anniversary list definitely needs to be updated for the 21st century.

I'm not seeing the problem here. Vaios come in silver color, and they can be used at the kitchen table.

If that's not convincing enough, I also found this definition of silveware online:

Silverware is a sporting term used to describe trophies awarded to winning players or teams.

Tada! You win! :)

I received a laptop for my fortieth birthday, and it has changed my life. I can now get work done when I'm waiting for kids or when I go to Starbucks and enjoy a coffee. I do much of my blogging during breaks at work-thus not taking up family time.

YOU NEED ONE!!!!

I agree with the others, Mary, you HAVE to have a laptop! We're not in the 50's. A laptop is the PERFECT anniversary gift for 2008! It sure beats a toaster or flowers. :-)

Here's to a fantabulous new laptop and lots of great times with it!

Smiles,
Michele

Oooh! I just thought of another one!

What do we use wood for?

Pencils.

What are pencils used for?

Writing....

-See where I'm going? ;)

Dens~ Hey...maybe you can have MZ email me with a list of a couple good ones at a reasonable cost? I know nothing about them and don't want to necessarily spend top dollar.

Christina~ Nice way to work in the wood.

Malone!~ I'm afraid the whole Ty thing would be a "Con" for hubby because he wouldn't want Ty to use it. He uses my computer.

Karen~ I actually still have the picture of the flowers taped up to my cubie at work. ;)

storyteller~ Thanks for the good vibes...I hope it works!

Jenn~ Update! That's a great idea...I could tell him that the list was updated to Laptop. :)

Melissa~ Oh...you are GOOD!! I'm going to use these!! ;) My kind of woman, you are. (wait...did I just sound like yoda just now?)

Mrs. G.~ Dilemma on the family time...he's thinking my typing will interrupt his TV time. When do I get a break?? I'm not sure.

Michele~ Thanks for your support. I'm on a mission now!!

Melissa~ Keep 'em coming girl!!

Happy Anniversary, Grandy!! I hope that whatever you get, it's something you love and will use...so a laptop sounds like a good plan to me!!!

As celebrating anniversaries is pretty much non-exsistant over here...at least as a couple (I do have a quite a celebration on my own!!! I buy the best gifts for myself!!!)...it will be nice to hear how the celebration went!!!

Grandy,

Picture of flowers? LOL Your husband is a hoot, too.

You need a laptop to commemorate that very thoughtful gift. You could scan it into the laptop and make it the wallpaper, thus forever giving tribute to hubby's noble first anniversay gift! Why not your desktop computer? That wouldn't be much of a tribute, not compared to being displayed on a shiny new laptop. He really needs to think of himself this anniversary and give you the honor of honoring him in a first class way!

Good luck!!

Tina
