Holiday Sweaters

I was all primed to post about a lovely time I had yesterday, seated at a table near 7 elderly women, all wearing holiday sweaters, and exchanging gifts.

It just made me think...I hope I get to grow old. I don't know if I necessarily want to wear a holiday sweater, but I want to be able to talk to my girlfriends about the way things used to be and the good old days, and mean it. These women were so sweet and appreciative of their little handmade gifts from eachother. It really made me feel good, and as I left, I went to their table and wished them all a Merry Christmas. I explained that although I was seated by myself, I thoroughly enjoyed their gift exchange vicariously through them.

All festive with the holiday spirit, I ventured into Blogthings and thought it would be fun to post another quiz. Of course, being my sarcastic self, I thought I would see what Crappy gift I would be (still reeling from Mrs. G's post about her white elephant gift) and look what crappy gift I am...can you believe it?? Oh well...

You Are a Christmas Sweater!

Over the top, colorful, and totally flashy.
You're not afraid to be a little tacky.

Good Afternoon Grandy,
That is just too funny there. Your not sure if you want to wear a sweater and you turn out to be a sweater. LOL. Here is what it said about me:

You Are a Fruitcake!

You taste like nothing else in this world.
And get ready, you're about to get tossed!

Now that is just too funny for me as well. Thanks for sharing this. I enjoyed it. Well, take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

I got something different. I am a losing lottery ticket!

Full of hope and promise.
But in the end, a cheap letdown.

Bah humbug! --Your sweater trumps my gift....

"You Are Socks!
Cozy and warm... but easily lost.
You make a good puppet."

And I hate socks :(

Actully fruitcake is too good for me. :)

Grandy, you posted on my blog today. And you were so sweet, that I had to look ya up. If your profile is correct, I just found my long lost sibling. LOL...

Totally serious about how us 2 are alike! That is if you weren't kidding. Take this quote:

"ALL but don't ask me titles of songs or who sings what. I would so blow at "Name That Tune""

I once pulled an Al Bundy and ran into a music store and hummed a few bars. Just so I could finally say that I own a CD that wasn't a gift. I have never known any song names to ask for in a music store. Sis would sometimes be kind and buy me a record that I liked. My record collection growing up was 3 gift albums. And I am a music lover and a musician. (I play music by ear while listening to the radio.)

Now I call myself geographically challenged. See someone lost in a store? You will now know who they are. ;) The other day, I got lost on a road that I drove perhaps a hundred times before, but it was snowing.... Just the other week, they closed a road down VERY close to home, and I got lost for an hour!

It is actually refreshing to know that I ain't the only one. LOL... Nice to meet ya! :)

Ohmygosh - I'm a "self-help" book! Sigh -- I'd rather be socks, but I'm glad I'm NOT a fruitcake or a sweater. ROFL -- These blogthings are strange. I wonder who writes them? I'll bet they're computer generated and we're being laughed at by machines who are waiting for their chance to take over the world while we're busy answering these questions or blogging.
Hugs and blessings,

Time has healed my white elephant wounds. I may be able to laugh about it in, say, five years.

I, too, hope to grow old and hang with my old girlfriends. Lets get old and start a Bunko club, what do you say?

But I'll pass on the Christmas sweater. Not big on the applique fashion scene.

Alright...

To all my Fruitcake friends...I would NOT toss you aside, but I would perhaps put you out to share with the deer.

To all my Sistas...Beautiful barflike bedazzled sweaters UNITE!!!

To all you you socks...I get these quite regularly from various family members. I love you just the same, but would only be able to tolerate you one season out of the year.

Lottery Tickets?? It's a risk worth taking, I promise!!

Storyteller...I just don't know what to say about your self-help book. Snuggle up in your socks, and your bedazzled holiday sweater, gobble some fruitcake and play the lottery.

:D
