I have always been a big fan of Mr. Newman.
He was truly a class act and deserved the respect of everyone.
He will be sorely missed in the movie world, but thank goodness for DVD's. The first movie I really noticed him was Cool Hand Luke. Our English teacher made us watch it, and I was HOOKED.
My heart goes out to his family.
In honor of Mr. Newman's legacy, why don't you share what your favorite movie was with him? Cars? Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? The Color of Money?
The list is plentiful. Pick one and share it with the group.

The Sting. One of my all time favorite movies ever.
Love his salad dressing too :-)
Sniff.
Class act that he indeed was. his generousity to childern with the hole in the wall camps to say the least of his humanitarism. My prayers go out to his family.
I heard about it this morning and was genuinely sad. When I was a kid, we used to have the Afternoon Movie, at 4pm on ABC, and I watched him on "Paul Newman Week" and fell in love. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for him. He will be truly missed.
Definately Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid. That bicycle scene is unbeatable stuff.
I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't seen many of his movies. However, he was DAY-UM hot back in the day! Holy crap!
Perhaps his spaghetti sauce has affected more lives than his acting...I don't know the exact percentage but the majority of his profit go to charity.
Yup … the world has lost a good one for sure. I've left an animated award for friends at Small Reflections ... should you care to drop by and collect it ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
Definitely Butch Cassidy--my mom dragged me kicking and screaming and I loved it.
Oh...too many favorites to choose from...pretty much loved them all...sniff sniff...Cool Hand Luke...Long Hot Summer...The Sting...and of course, Butch and Sundance...with THE best line..."Swim? Hell...the fall will probably kill you!!!" Love it...have used it in many a situation!!
There are so many. But I think my two favorites are The Sting and Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, mainly because of the rapport and the banter amongst all the characters.
