Thursday 13 - ish

Grandy has always been a fan of reading other blogs that post according to the days of the week (Wordless Wednesdays, Thursday Thirteen, Haiku Fridays) but has always had a bit of a fear of commitment.

Let's face it, I can barely remember what day of the week it is, much less remember that I was supposed to post a picture or a poem. I post what strikes me, and fear if I miss it, the Thursday 13 police will come strike me down. (kidding...the conspiracy people need not be alarmed...I don't believe there really are any T13 police out there.

The pressure is too great.

Also, Grandy has never been very good with rules. Is the 13 supposed to be positive? In Wordless Wednesday, what if you take a picture of words? Haiku???

Today, I'm going to do my own version, as I'm sitting here frustrated with the fact that I seem to be having a flare up (of sorts). What sort of flare up, you ask? Well, a tourettes flare-up of course.

Not only have I had 2 days of saying ASS on my blog in a week, but I have been dropping F-Bombs like the battle of Normandy. I don't think I can get off the phone at work without chanting... A$$HOLE.

It really is difficult to control...I promise.

I've always had a bit of t "blinking" problem. The kids called me blinky in school (kids can suck). When I'd get nervous, my eyes would then blink AND roll. Ok, some of the rolling of the eyes was under my control (I know Mom, I know) but not all of it. The more I get worked up and stressed, it gets worse.

Have I been formally diagnosed with it? I don't remember...

Do I blame it for my swearing? Hey, if I can put up with getting called Blinky as a kid, then I think I get to.

That being said, I've been out-of-control lately with it. Why? Long days...short sleep nights... lots of stuff going on. This morning I was trying to think about all the things that might be contributing to this recent efing flare up, and thought...Hey! I can kinda make a list of 13... sorta... maybe.

So, without further adieu, here are 13 reasons for my efing tourettes flare up.

1) 5 hours a sleep a night - max
2) 13-14 hour work days - a few days a week
3) Football practice - Ty...not me
4) Boy Scout Parents - Really? Are we all 12?
5) Olympics - Part of the problem of little sleep
6) School started this week
7) Cycle - Not the uni-, bi-, or motor- kind
8 - 13ish) Statements like these made to me either in writing or personally:

"Are you really this ignorant, or just intentionally mis-informed?" - He's an Ass

"I shouldn't have to teach you a course in law or contract interpretation." - Same ASS

"What do you think this is, a civil rights violation or a traffic violation?" - Yep! You guessed it! The ass is still here.

"Let's face it, Mary, they don't pay claims people to think." - Different ass (finally).

Me - You want me to send you all the contact information in one email?
Twit - Yes Ma'am
Me - But it's in the submission package I provided already
Twit - I didn't read that yet, it would be easier if you just sent that.
Me - You want me to do extra work to make less work for you?
Twit - Yes Ma'am

Big Boss - So, I'll see you at the meeting at 8am.
Me - But the meeting is 120 miles from my home? I thought we were meeting at 10?
BB -'s 8.
Me - Well you're buying the coffee.
(No I didn't get in trouble for that comment...yet)

"Mom...I think we forgot to pay the phone bill." - Text message from my son because phones didn't work. I did forget, it's not about the $$ I just FORGOT!

Even as I write this list, it's no wonder I can't stop saying Fother Mucker.

Not even a hint of tourettes here..BUT..I've been similarly foul mouthed this week and yes it can be attributed to a certain cycle and Olympic sized lack of sleep and being surrounded by The Stupids at work. FWIW, that list made me say Fother Mucker too.

When I'm stressed I speak fluent sailor. I try to keep the off-color language to a minimum usually, but when the f-bombs start dropping at the drop of a hat then I know I'm under stress.

So? You're in good company!

Now this post just made me laugh. Not at all the reasons you have this "tourettes," but at the way you wrote it.

If it makes you feel better I am sending bad karma to the asses out there that giving you more work. They can just shove it.

Really? TS? Nephew has and handles it extremely well-sounds like you've got it well in hand.

I swear when I'm stressed. It's usually when I'm running late. As of late I've tried not to use foul language since my 21 month old daughter will, of course, use that particular moment to start speaking clearly.

Christina~ Thank you for trying to make me feel normal. You rock!!

Catherine~ We are some sort of efing kindred spirits, aren't we?

Bridge~ May the ass karma gods be smiling upon them now.

Suzanne~ Not as well as I would like I'm afraid.

Joyce-Anne~ Oh yea...when Ty was 2 he would run around the house in cute 2 y.o. sprint saying "sunnavabitch" because that's what Grampa always said. ;)

Grandy, are you serious about those symptoms? I didn't know. I'm sure you'll think I'm bonkers... (wait, maybe you did already?) but if you're having those symptoms I'd (personally) say your body is craving Lecithin and lots of B vitamins. ;-)

*smiles and hugs*

P.S. Hope you get that coffee free! hehehe

Ya, I didn't know about the TS either. My friend's daughter was finally diagnosed with it after 13 years of hell. Now she's on meds and life is much better for all of them. Go get some sleep. Or take a holiday or something. Take care

Hi. My name is Debbie. And I'm a cusser. Oh'd think that having my mouth washed out with soap as a young lass (Oh yes, that did so happen...Granny did it...with LAVA soap...not a good memory!!!) I'd be less apt to have those wonderful words come out of my mouth. Yeah. You'd think!
Oh...I'm with you on all the specific day posting....the only one I really do is one that I'm thinking only I do....Flamingo Friday...just because I like 'em and it's fun!

oh...and I'm right there with you on your list with #'s 1, 5 and 7!!! :-D

F#$%! Just reading about your week has me stressed.

I right there with you on the sleep deprivation. Methinks some chocolate and a martini may be the best remedy.

I cuss infront of my boss all the time but I make sure I do it with humor though...

#8-13 are just too much to handle...ROTFL

I prescribe 12 hours of sleep to commence immediately!

ROFL ... (and it's hard to get OFF the floor to type at 63 ya know). I couldn't resist the title and feel like a reminder that RULEZ ARE MEANT TO BE BROKEN is in order. My Wordless Wednesday posts are often (almost or anything but) wordless ... my T-13s frequently have 'bonus' items, etc. The think I like about these weekly memes is they encourage me to post SOMETHING every day rather than take days off which might lead me to give up the whole blogging thing in time. I do think some SLEEP might be in order, but who am I to say because I've certainly not been sleeping much either.
Hugs and blessings,

I meant to add ... the frustrating thing about this comment modification is that I can't check the little box to receive follow up comments in email any more and I miss your responses but have no time to 'check back' with any consistency. Such is life ... sometimes progress has drawbacks. That said ... my email IS available on my profile page ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

Debbie~ HA...of course you participate in the Flamingo day! :)

Sandy~ Combine the two and make it a chocolatini. Yummmmmm...

Grandy said...

Mike~ Thanks for the hugs. :)

Chris~ 8-13 ARE too much.

Jenn~ I'm hitting the snooze button as we speak.

Storyteller~ You're not still on the floor are you? Point taken on the trackbacks...I don't like that people can't subscribe to comments if they want to. I'll fix it. Thanks!!

Nicole~ I know you're going thru some stuff yourself. Hope you're hanging in there.

Mike~ Shhhh.... I'm hunting wabbits. ;)
